I have always wanted to go horseback riding in Yellowstone National Park. Imagine my excitement when I learned that Spanish Peaks offers a horseback riding vacation, complete with a horseback ride into Yellowstone, a picnic lunch, and my own private Spanish Peaks wrangler! Situated in a secluded valley, this 5,700 acre private enclave is surrounded by Lee-Metcalf wilderness, Yellowstone National Park to the south, the Galletin National Forest and Spanish Peaks sit to the north of the property and right next door is a snow skiers paradise, Big Sky Resort.
There’s more to Horseback Riding at The Club at Spanish Peaks
I’ve written before about my preference for king salmon fishing in Alaska and Canada. Perhaps this horseback riding vacation would offer me a chance to have a better understanding of fly fishing. I have heard the Gallatin River in Big Sky, Montana is a wonderfully scenic tributary for fishing. Of course my husband and son would jump at the chance to play a round of golf on the Tom Weishopf golf course.
