Recently I was thinking about where I would take my next holiday; but more importantly, I was also thinking about what I would do on that holiday. Besides relaxing on a beach by the water, I thought about taking a horseback riding vacation. Horseback riding is something I haven’t tried before. I’m at a stage in my life where I want to try new things, and horseback riding seemed like a great choice.
But where do I go that would be warm, relaxing and offer horseback riding? A friend of mine suggested Cyprus, which seemed like a bit of a random idea at first, until I did a bit of research. Did you know that Cyprus is the third largest Mediterranean Island?
Cyprus is an island situated near Turkey, Syria and Lebanon in the Mediterranean Sea. It has a subtropical climate with warm to hot summers and extremely mild winters. This means you can travel there any time of the year and find dependable weather for horseback riding.
Although Cyprus is only a small island, you can get their by airplane. International flights to Cyprus will most likely land at either Larnaca International Airport or Paphos International Airport. Alternatively, you can get to Cyprus by sea, with the main harbors being Limassol and Larnaca.
Why Go Horseback Riding in Cyprus?
One of the main reasons to go horseback riding in Cyprus is because of the climate. The Mediterranean climate means that summers in Cyprus reach about 28 °C whereas the winters usually stay above 11 °C, with plenty of sunshine throughout. This means you will never be horseback riding in cold weather. Another great thing about horseback riding in Cyprus is the wonderful coastal scenery. Almost everywhere you go you have a view of the bright blue sea.
Horseback Riding Lessons in Cyprus

They provide daily, one hour horseback riding lessons by qualified riding instructors during the six days. You get to stay in a traditional village house or at a beach hotel by the sea. You also get bike hire, car rental, and a day spa. So all in all, a full holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, including horse riding lessons. What could be better than that?
